Despite advocacy, domestic violence brings down AG Schneiderman

Schneiderman stepped down after an expose in the New Yorker detailed allegations by four women that he subjected them to physical violence during romantic relationships or encounters. The news came as a shock to many because Schneiderman had developed a reputation as a champion of women's issues.

9th Circuit: Salary history doesn't justify gender gap in pay

Some of that pay gap can be explained by differences in choice of occupation, educational attainment, or work experience, but the majority of the gap is likely the result of gender discrimination.

What does a Google lawsuit mean for women in the workplace?

Three women have filed a discrimination lawsuit against Google. The lawsuit alleges that Google paid these women less than male employees, and that they did not have the same opportunities for advancement as men within the company.

Walmart accused of punishing workers for taking sick time

A group of workers recently accused Walmart of punishing them for taking sick time. Among the allegations are instances of the company refusing to accept doctors' notes, penalizing workers for taking care of sick family members and other instances of punishing employees for lawful absences.
